Iain Smith is a UK based artist born in the last week of the sixties. Originally trained in fine art as a sculptor, he started his freelance career as the one-man art department for a children’s cable tv show and has worked in live camerawork, storyboarding for commercials and produced animation commissions for broadcast motion graphics and theatre projection.

 

Currently working as a lecturer in animation and 3D modelling, Iain has continued to evolve his practice. Exploring the use of artificial intelligence Iain creates beautiful and at times uncomfortable visions of the near future in response to the increasingly urgent issues facing our environment.
